4th of July Parade & Festival

A time-honored tradition returns to Alpine this summer bringing fun and fellowship.

Let’s hear it for the red, white, and blue! Alpine lets the colors of the flag fly in the annual 4th of July Parade and Festival! The parade has been revived from the Crown Hills 4th of July parade by the Kiwanis Club of Alpine, assisted by the Alpine Chamber of Commerce and Alpine Community Center. Now the annual parade happily rolls down Alpine Boulevard, harking back to the great days of old when towns celebrated our national holiday together!

Highlights of the parade include the Alpine Veterans from the Bert Fuller VFW Post 9578, the Garden Club’s float, which was last year’s winner in the parade competition, and a beautiful Cinderella Carriage entered by Greywood Kennels! Also, the Historical Society has a fun surprise planned for their entry! One might even see Uncle Sam passing out complimentary flags!

Alpine’s Honorary Mayor, Linda Cioffi is this year’s Grand Marshall. Cioffi, owner of Alpine View Lodge, a residential living facility specializing in dementia and Alzheimer’s care for the elderly, is also a hardworking fundraiser for her cause, Quest for the Cure. Cioffi’s most fervent goal in life is to see the end of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. She says, “I am a cancer survivor, and in my lifetime, I want to shake the hand of the person who has beaten Alzheimer’s disease.” Quest for the Cure has been going strong for four years and has successfully raised over $100,000. Each year their goal grows to a higher level, and each year they surpass their goal. In October, the main fundraising event will be an Oktoberfest held at the Alpine Community Center. Watch for Honorary Mayor Cioffi to roll by in the Grand Marshall vehicle!

The parade steps off on July 4, 2019 at 10 a.m. at the corner of W. Victoria Drive, and Alpine Boulevard. When the Alpine Church bell rings, the floats will process, showing their spirit for the red, white, and blue as they head west to the Alpine Community Center Park where the festival will be underway! The Kiwanis Cook Shack will be offering hot dogs and hamburgers, and cold drinks! The Salvation Army will have popcorn, cotton candy and snow cones. Children are invited to participate in the dunk tank and game booths. There will be music and entertainment inside the Alpine Community Center, including a magician that will surprise and amaze.
